UNPACKED – Cardboard Creations

 

We invite artists of all disciplines to submit their work for UNPACKED: Cardboard Creations, an exhibition exploring the versatility, creativity, and sustainability of cardboard as an artistic medium.

UNPACKED celebrates the transformation of a humble, everyday material into works of imagination and innovation. From sculptural installations and reliefs to collages, architectural forms, or even wearable art — this show highlights how cardboard can be cut, layered, bent, painted, and reshaped into something extraordinary.

Whether your work comments on consumption and reuse, reveals the beauty of raw materials, or reimagines cardboard in unexpected ways, we welcome your interpretation of UNPACKED: Cardboard Creations — an exploration of creativity from the inside out.

 

 

Submission Guidelines

  • Artists are required to REGISTER first.

  • Artwork submissions should include clear pictures of artwork, name and short description of the artwork.

  • We will exhibit no more than 2 pieces per artist.

·         Canvas and framed work - including framed drawings, photography, mixed media art must be ready to hang Hardware like d-hooks and wire are needed with our gallery rail system.

·         Small scale 3-D art installations as well as small sculptures will be placed on a flat surface for display. 

  • Artists must be at least 18 years of age (or a parent/guardian must sign waivers on behalf of any minors)

  • Deadline to submit artwork for consideration is February 2, 2026.

 

Selection Process

  • DART staff reserves the right to accept or reject artwork.

  • Selected artists will be notified by February 9, 2026.

  • Final Submissions will be due February 15, 2026 – with artwork delivered to the Doraville Art Center and checked for appropriate hanging requirements.

  • DART asks artists to pay $5 as a hanging fee

  • 20% of your sales at the show go to the Doraville Art Center (DART). You can factor this percentage into your price at final submission.

 

Exhibition Details

The 'Cozy Comforts' exhibition will be held at Doraville Art Center 2421 Van Fleet Circle Suite 180, Doraville GA 30360 from February 22 , 2026 – March 28, 2026.

Family, friends, and community members are invited to the Opening Reception on February 22, 2026, featuring refreshments1 Van Fleet Circle Suite 180 , Doraville GA 30360 from January 8 – February 6, 2026.

 

 

DART is a nonprofit organization that is committed to create and encourage art in the city of Doraville to the benefit of the community through advocacy, education and opportunity and facilitate new public art in Doraville, including art by new artists and artists from under-represented communities.
