Join Us in a Creative Journey

We invite artists of all mediums to submit their work for Courage to Connect, an exhibition that explores the beauty of curiosity and openness. When we stay curious about each other, we uncover stories that remind us we are not alone in our journeys. Embracing our vulnerability allows us to welcome others, be seen, and strengthen our communities. This is a courageous act worth celebrating.

Submission Guidelines

To participate, artists must follow these guidelines:

  • Artists are required to REGISTER first.

  • Artwork submissions should include clear pictures of the artwork, along with the artist's name and a short description.

  • We will exhibit no more than two pieces per artist.

  • We accept canvas and framed work, including framed drawings, photography, mixed media art, small-scale 3-D art installations, and small sculptures.

  • Artists must be at least 18 years of age. If a minor is submitting work, a parent or guardian must sign waivers on their behalf.

  • The deadline for submitting artwork for consideration is August 13, 2026.

Selection Process

The selection process is straightforward:

  • DART staff reserves the right to accept or reject artwork based on quality and relevance.

  • Selected artists will be notified by August 20, 2026.

  • Final submissions will be due by August 27, 2026. Artwork must be delivered to the Doraville Art Center and checked for appropriate hanging requirements.

  • DART asks artists to pay a $5 hanging fee.

  • Artwork does not have to be for sale to be included in the exhibit.

  • If your artwork sells, 20% of the sales will go to the Doraville Art Center (DART). You can factor this percentage into your pricing at final submission.
