Inspired by the archipelago of Puerto Rico, the bird’s color and the tree it proudly stands on represent the pride of my Boricuan spirit. I used mixed media of color pencils and layers of distress oxide to show its diverse appearance, symbolizing my country’s warm and sociable nature.
